Linda2 Good list, interesting for its many time periods.

message 2: by Luci (new)

Luci An interesting and varied list, but some great books on it aren't really set in London, or mostly not.

Yes - those agatha christies - and Mr Tom?!

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads Have I "inherited" this list? (I didn't start it, but I'm the first voter listed.)

hah - that happens a lot doesn't it! The list starter has left goodreads, or started anew with a different profile.

Phil Brett I'm pretty new to Goodreads and still finding my way around. Really enjoyed this list. I knew some; were reminded of others and introduced to some new. Thanks. People may be interested in my blog on why London is popular for crime fiction. https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...

Eeek! Self promotion is frowned on here Phil.

Nigeyb No Absolute Beginners by Colin MacInnes - probably the best London novel - I'll add it

I just voted for books I've read, unless I was sure they weren't set in London. Some of the books I voted for I've read a long time ago and I just can't remember the setting, not even if my life depended on it :-)

I agree with you though, as I know for sure that some of the books on this list aren't set in London, or mostly not, anyway.

S. One for the keepers of the list to add -- GLOW by Ned Beauman.
Perhaps I missed it?

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads It's easy to add books to lists; at the top of the list, at the tab next to "all votes."

I tried - cannot see it added.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads You should be presented with a choice to add books from a general search or from your own bookshelves. Unless this book isn't in GR's catalog?

You then need hit the vote button next to the book, once you've found it.

Thank you so much, but, I've tried twice - I thought this was a list of books set in London - I certainly wouldn't vote for it above many of the others - although I did enjoy the read. And, yes, it is on goodreads.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads That's very odd!
