Sometimes, you simply have to force yourse…moreMove on, take a break, or power through. Not all writing has to be inspired by a muse or totally motivated. Sometimes, you simply have to force yourself to sit down and type. I decided early on that I wouldn't write my book in order. When I was inspired to write a specific part of the book or even just a scene, I would write that part. When I wasn't inspired at all, then I wrote the boring stuff. I moved the plot forward based on my outline. Those parts get smoothed out when I go back for my first edit. Maybe they feel stale, maybe the transition doesn't work, maybe I have to start that whole section over. It doesn't matter, as long as you keep writing, that is what is important. (less)
