After finding the Strange Brew story okay, I was still interested to learn more about the world of Jane Yellowrock. I rather enjoyed Skinwalker. I appreciate that it wasn't muddled with an overabundance of curse words to make it seem "edgy or cool" nor did it muddy itself with pointless sex scenes. The alternation of the Beast and Jane made it seem like a split personality rather than shapeshifting, but this is because the Beast was so well-realized.
The Cherokee cultural aspect wasn't as fully explored as I'd like, but what was included was intriguing.
Characterization was a slow evolution in this book. We aren't presented with developed characters at the outset, but we do get to know them over the course of the narrative.

Solid start to what looks like a promising series. Just enough mystery over who Jane might be, and Beast is great too.
I liked this one, but didn't love it. Interesting worldbuilding and a strong MC, but I can only take the loner bit for so long, then I need more character interaction. The mystery was decent and I thought it was a good start.
