I remember watching the movie when it came out when I was quite young and thinking it was boring, so I hadn't really been too keen to read this book, but am glad I did. It's exceedingly creepy and not for everyone as the protagonist is an anti-hero and it's really weird to simultaneously root for him and against him, but it was well written and if you are of the type that can stand flawed characters (characters with flaws, not flawed in the writing of the character) worth a read.
