hashed over and studied again and again in just about every french class and even beyond in english-language lit classes, this classic would seem to get tiring, right? mais non. the writing is almost poetic in its direct simplicity, clarifying rather than disguising the existential themes at the center of the novel.
a book that could inspire a great song by The Cure- "Killing an Arab" is pretty good to me.
