Brilliant!
Enchanting story of an innocent child and his immigrant family in the cruel, harsh reality that is NYC. I don't know that the immigrant experience could be told any better than this. This would be a great one to listen to as an audio book.
I also liked that Roth gave me a new way of looking at writing. He opened my eyes to new possibilities.

Great story, though the parts written in dialect can be challenging, did find it helped to read them aloud. David our young hero, arrives with his mother from austria, Roth focuses on his relationship with his mother and father. We don't get to see him become an adult, or even a teenager. Would be interested if there was a sequel, though without the dialect please.
