Most of the time while I was reading, this thought kept recurring to me: "Yes, it is very exciting, intriguing, a real page-turner ( I couldn't put it down except with difficulty) and on top of that hilarious in may scenes. But: why was it chosen by so many crime-novel writers as her "masterpiece" ?" Then, I had to agree when I reached the last chapter.
Outstanding story, let alone being very entertaining and really funny. ...more

One of the only Poirot mysteries I never read as a kid (and I read a lot of Christie). Fantastic twist.

I'm glad I read this straight after reading The Big Four, it is really the opposite extreme of Christie's abilities. The twist is just fantastic so if you have read it you must not tell anyone. ...more
