This moved a bit slowly for me but I did like it. I think that over the years I've been exposed to so many vampire stories that this one seemed pretty tame. It was interesting to read the book that started it all though and I'm sure at the time it must have really freaked people out. I liked the format of journal entries, newspaper articles etc.-found that a pleasant surprise.

I wanted to read the classic vampire book among all the vampire hype lately and am I glad I did. Dracula is a compelling and scary story, even though anyone who pays any attention to pop culture would know the general plot. However written in journal entries from a few of the characters perspective the story unfolds and is really compelling. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

I actually own two editions of this book, one English, one Dutch, yet I haven't read any of them!
