Ehhh. I'm just not that into Irving. I do think Cider House rules was better.

Owen Meany is one of the most unforgetable characters in all of literature. Once you meet this kid you will never forget him. Like the other characters in the novel I just wanted to hug him and pinch his cheeks. Owen is special.

One of my very favorites. Not easy to read, but very thought provoking and haunting. The parallels to Vietnam and the current war are amazing. Also, the thoughts on faith and religion had a large impact on me. This is a book that I read over a period of years, and I really want to re-read it so that I can take it all in.

I adored this book. I fell in love with both Johnny and Owen Meany, goodness. I loved how everything at the end tied together, not to mention all of the imagery and symbolism. John Irving is a brilliant author and left me crying at the end.
Gosh, such a great book.

Given to me for Christmas when I was in high school. This was the first book I got as a gift from someone besides my mother.
One of my all time favorites.
