What Members Thought
Ok I'm a bookseller for YA therefore I read ALOT of it! After awhile some of these dystopian themed books get to sounding too much alike, just switch up some names and places and give it a title and there you go. In some ways you can say that about Legend, since there is a boy and there is a girl and they are fighting for the cause, fall in love blah, blah, blah. BUT this book felt and read different to me. Each chapter goes between June and Day, June, a Republic (government), Day, the colonies.

The story doesn't have a lot new there, but I do like the main characters quite a lot. I'm not sure what the story is behind how the US got to be the way it is (besides climate change, apparently).
I did think it was interesting that different color text are used for the alternating POVs. I'm not sure what purpose it serves, really. ...more

This is one of the smoothest stories I have ever read - smooth is an odd word - but still...This book is so seamless, the editor must have been a genius (and the author, of course). There weren't too many loose threads - considering it seems to be another one of those darn series books....The author was great moving things forward and the characters were likeable. I look forward to the next book.
