I love Roland. I love Eddie Dean and I love Odetta/Detta/Susanah. What more do I need to say?

This is the second installment of King’s magnum opus and doesn’t get us any closer to the Tower. That’s’ ok, because what it does do is introduce us to most of the ka-tet. Having read the series before, I loved experiencing these introductions again a way that made them seem fresh. (audio as opposed to novel)

Like most of King's books, this one was full of graphic detail I could have lived without, but it was also incredibly well characterized, and the plot was engaging, if odd at times.

Such rich detail in character. While many people may find the long exhausting passages on each and every person that passes in these pages to be unnecessary, I, again, finally realize the depth that King is willing to go to create a universe unparalleled to many writers. It lives, they breath... I lap it up !!
