Interesting take on the future of humanity in a post nuclear apocalypse world. At times the story threw me--I felt like I had just gotten accustomed with the where, when, and who and then the story would jump several hundred years. I fought to finish this book, but the ending and the resulting understanding made it worth it.
Chris Sachnik
I enjoyed the initial story, but it sort of lost steam for me toward the end. The world was interesting, but I was bogged down in the minutia of the struggles of the church and the various factions vying for control of the remains. Not a bad book, but not as good as i was expecting.

Reading this now for the third or fourth time. The classic late fifties post-nuclear vision. Dark, humor, visionary, challenging

Completely different from what I expected, but so very good. I'm still digesting and will be for a long time. Love that! ...more
