The beginning of this was a five-star read for me. Off the charts clever and I was completely able to suspend disbelief and believe this "zombie" could have such a smart inner dialogue. The keyword in that sentence is "inner". Once R meets and begins to interact with Julie I lost interest.

Another zombie apocalypse story, but this one is a little different...

R is our hero, a zombie with a good heart but a horrible appetite. R is living in a hive of other zombies out at the airport. The main zombie, who goes by a letter R (or something like that) is out on a food finding mission and runs into a group of teenagers. He lets the reader know that he is articulate, even though he can only speak with grunts or broken words and that he has memories of the people whose brains he e ...more

I think I was expecting more from this book than I got. It was just an okay read for me. Some portions I had to struggle to keep going.
