Unexpectedly Beautiful

I am a fan of Zompoc fiction. But this book was a total surprise. It is less about the ending of one thing, but the beginning of another. The writing is exquisite, a mixture of smart ass crow and the poetry of Nature. I anxiously await my turn at the library to read Feral Creatures, much like ST awaits a long promised bag of Cheetos.

S.T. the domestic crow and honorary Mofo is a post apocalyptic hero in shining feathers. I laughed, I cried, I read vast sections of this book aloud to my husband while he tried to do homework. This book is utterly mad and I loved it cover to cover.

This was a lovely story, I very much enjoyed the POV of the animals. She did a great job capturing their voices and personalities.
