What I Thought

You can't tell but I am fist-pumping the air over this book! This displays EVERYTHING I love about YA books. I love the angst... and how much more angst can you get than a budding teenage girl filled with hormones, and a succubus that wants to suck the life out of every boy she finds herself attracted to. And there is not just a love triangle, but a "love hexagon" as I've seen Shannon put it. It was such an interesting take on a commonly used literary device. And there was plenty of "boy eye candy" to go around. I even loved the pattern of SAT words preceding the chapters and looking for the use of that word in the chapter. You get a boost to your vocabulary just by reading this book!

I personally found all the characters to seem natural to themselves, and loved the variety between each of the "guys". There were some plot twists that I saw a mile away, with a big neon sign- but I still loved the way it was told. And there were other plot twists I was expecting, but either I was wrong, or maybe, just maybe those possibilities will be explored in the future installments. And quite honestly, I was NOT expecting the ending, so that was a pleasant surprise. The book was well pace and very engaging. Normally, it would have been the book that I would have stayed up way too late reading, but current circumstances forced me to draw it out. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone that enjoys YA. And while there are (obvious) sexual overtones (hello, succubus?) this is still a "clean" enough story to give to any teenager.

I'm left wanting the next book NOW! But, as I hear it should be just a few months away at the most, I will attempt to subdue my inner demon from begging for mercy.... ...more

Even better second time around.

Ok, I did enjoy this book a lot but there was just a couple of things that kind of bothered me. For the first half of the book I could not put it down, it was fantastic. Mercy had great guys who were interested in her and I loved them all haha. Couldn't decide which I preferred. So good. As long as someone edits this book, it will be amazing.

Out of all the boys that are after Mercy I had a hard time choosing. At first I liked Luke, but towards the end I think I love Flynn! She should be with him. There isn't anything wrong with taming the bad boy. Plus it's not his fault he has to use girls to survive.

If not him, then I guess Sebastian is another great candidate.
Paul is just out of the question...good guy, but he is human after all.

This was a wonderful book and I can´t wait to get my hands on the sequel to bad I have to wait until beginning of next year. The only negative thing I have to say about this book is that I think the spelling was off a bit at times. English isn´t my first language so maybe I should keep my mouth shut because I guess I could be wrong but I do think someone needs to take a second look at the book when it comes to the spelling.

I was so excited to be given Beg For Mercy to review as part of Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics! Read to Review..... The book description sounded just like my type of book. This was the first series I read that focused on Succubus/Incubus/Cambion. I really enjoyed it and all the different characters and what they were. I thought the idea of Mercy having so many potential suitors fit the idea of her being a Succubus and this story inparticular more so than some stories where the main character has multiple love interests.

I have to say this book was so amazing I don't think I can put it into the right words. I loved everything about this book from beginning to end. The author has a way with words that just made this book flow so seamlessly and at the perfect pace. I flew through this book and actually stayed up late at night to finish it because I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and got so attached to them that I didn't want to let them go. The concept of teenagers having to deal with all that they had going on was a huge plus for this book as it created so much action and suspense.

I loved the character of Mercy. She had to grow up so quickly as a teenager and didn't get to enjoy all the normal things that kids her age were doing. Mercy had to keep a huge secret about what she was and boy was it a major one. I have to say I don't think I have read many books about succubus that were told from a teens point of view. This just made it more unique because the author showcased all the teen emotions and issues through Mercy in such a great way.The author knows how to write a story and craft it into perfection.

I have to say I loved Paul,Flynn, Luke,and Sebastian in this story. I wanted them all to be with Mercy for completely different reasons. I loved that Paul was one of Mercy's best friends and knew her better than anyone and has always been there for her. I loved that Luke was such a gentleman and would do anything for Mercy. Oh my where do I begin with Flynn. I guess I really am a sucker for the bad boy and boy was Flynn one. I liked that Mercy brought out a better side of him though and he was able to let loose and be himself more. Sebastian was just cool on a whole other level and I loved him and Mercy together too. Mercy will have some tough choices ahead of herself and I loved that the author was able to sell me on all of these guys. I tend to not love triangles but this one is more than that and I could truly see Mercy with any of them.

Overall I loved everything about this book and can't wait to read the next one. I can see this series getting better and better as there is so much potential there for it. The characters are ones you love and some are ones you love to hate. The author crafted them so well and endeared them all to me that I need more of them in my life like right now. I am so glad the author sent me the next one in the series and I bought the novella too and can't wait to get to them. I highly recommend you to drop everything and read this series like now because you will not be disappointed.

This book reminded me of The Mortal Instrument series. If you liked that series you will surely love the Cambion series. The first quarter of the book was a little slow and it felt like I was reading a book about a hormone raging teen. But as the book went on it really got very interesting.
