2.5, rounding up.
Oh boy, where do I start with this one? I enjoyed Anna and the French Kiss, although I am no longer in the intended age group for such a book, and I really don't do romances in general. So, I was looking forward to this one as a light read, and was interested in the setting of San Francisco. The book, however, irritated me throughout. Mostly, I just didn't like Lola. I loved it! I couldn't love it as much as Anna, but I still adored it. It was deliciously bold and spunky, addressed a lot of major issues, and had heartwarming romance.
Lola is fantastic. She is independent, uniquely fashionable, and pretty hilarious. A lot of things about her came as a surprise to me, and I really applaud them. After reading Anna and the French Kiss, I went into Lola and the Boy Next Door book hoping it would be just as amazing if not better. I wasn't disappointed at all, Stephanie just has a way with creating great stories. And I was really surprised at just how much I enjoyed Lola, I honestly haven't read much romance stories at all, but this one has to take the cake. It's such a cute story, and I just loved everything about it.

Well my original review didn't save...and I don't have the energy to write it again.
Basically it was super cute!
Lola was annoying but Cricket was fantastic. I wanted to punch Max.
My favorite quote....
"So you believe in second chances?...If the person is...Lola?" "Only if the other person is Cricket." ...more

After reading Anna and The French Kiss, I wanted to try some more of Stephanie's writing and Lola and the Boy Next Door is a really good one. Cheesy, normal and romantic. A really good valentine's read. :)
