Perception is not always reality. Vanessa "Nelly" Thompson has found her Prince Charming in Richard Thompson or so she thought. Vanessa seemed very mousy and dependent on her husband for everything. I listened to the audio version and the way the narrator read for Richard made me dislike him instantly. I felt like something was off with Vanessa and Richard.

"The Wife Between US" (2018) by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen is an interesting novel about a woman’s obsession with preventing another woman from marrying her ex-husband. Vanessa isn’t jealous, but she is one of the few people who knows what Richard is really like. The book has several twists that surprised me. Some of Vanessa’s introspection run a bit long, but Julia Whelan’s narration keeps it interesting. Recommended. ...more
