A good start to a new series and after getting to grips with the new set of characters, it became more enjoyable. However, being such a big fan of the infernal devices and of will, tessa and jem, it was hard to see them become so inconsequential in this story and appear as if they were simply there to decorate things and act aloof most of the time along with the other memorable characters from the previous series.
