It's more like a 4 1/2 stars and that's only because I expected a little romance and what I got was plutonic relationships that could and should have easily been more.

This book is so unique I can't even begin to explain it. It must have came to the author in a dream or she has a very vivid imagination. I noticed some reviews on this book said that there was some confusion as to what time period this was taking place, but I thought it was obvi ...more

Set in the future, Incarceron follows two stories, which become intertwined: a hellish, possibly underground prison from which only one person has ever escaped and a feudal society, which has banned technology. A convict named Finn tries to escape with the aid of the warden's daughter, who is bethrothed to the prince. Fisher leaves much to the imagination of the reader, which you may or may not like.
