I loved this modern retelling of Cinderella! It has been nominated for the ALA Teens' Top Ten Award for 2012.

I love fairy tales, and I have to admit that I was initially skeptical when I heard about a Cyborg Cinderella. I thought that the story would be too high-tech for me or just too weird. I was wrong! I loved it!!

The story takes place in the future after World War IV. Linh Cinder was originally from Europe, and she was involved in a horrific car accident at the age of 11 years which tragical

I love this book! At first, I wasn't sure that a book about cyborgs and people living on moon would work out, but this book rocked it!!!

The characters were all really strong - Cinder wasn't a stereotypical, helpless Disney princess and makes a lot of tough decisions. I loved seeing the Cinderella plot unfold, always wondering how Meyer was going to incorporate it, although I would have liked it if there was a fairy godmother figure in there too.

There were some very funny moments as well as some

Wow... just wow...

I wasn't sure what to think going into this one. I had heard it was a Cinderella story retelling, but I didn't see how it was going to work in a dystopian/post-apocalyptic setting. Apparently very well. When it comes to fairytale retellings, an author has a lot of liberty, and sometimes that can work, and sometimes it can't. Marissa Meyer made it work. There was the typical evil step mother, and the two step sisters--one nice, one mean. And of course, there was the prince. I lo
