So, I'm waffling a little bit on how to rate this. On the one hand, this was beautifully written. The story was engaging and I do want to know what happens next.

But on the other, I really was getting so tired of the angsty inner dialogue that Allie had throughout the book. You chose this life sweetie, now you gotta put on your big girl panties and DEAL!

The Immortal Rules was a fabulous read for me. The vampires in this book are old school vampires, that don't sparkle in the sunlight. They sleep during the day, they can get hurt and they heal quickly. They have super speed and strength. It was great.

In this book vampires rule the world. They live in cities and the humans are basically bloodbags for them. Registered humans need to donate blood to the vampires in exchange for being taken care of. Unregistered humans live on the fringe of the city

I loved it!!! Julie Kagawa is a genius!! I made a lot of predictions with the book and every single one of them was shot down, but I don't care!! I loved it anyway, I loved that I couldn't see what was coming! I loved peeling back all of the layers of the story one by one.

I loved Allie's character, of course she's my favorite right next to Zeke and Caleb! I loved that she is a futuristic supernatural version of a vampire samurai warrior! Also she made up some really creepy vampire-zombie creatu

I read this book for a challenge. It has been on my shelf for a long time now. I haven't really been into vampires lately. I might have rated the book higher if I was. But for now, it kind of reminded me a lot of The Walking Dead TV show. The rabids, reminded me more of zombies than vampires and the thing with the farmhouse and the preacher. Maybe some day, if I get back into vamps again, I might read the next two books, but for now, I'll pass. ...more
