I really liked this book much more than I expected to.
I enjoyed the world building in the book although I did think the factions were kinda dumb (when I say this I mean the people in the book are dumb for creating this kind of society) because really people can't value one aspect of human behavior over all the others and you can't rule all the behaviors out. This book definitely owes homage to a lot of popular novels. The plot is set in the future where everybody is divided into factions (no sorting hat). Tris has to prove herself in a grueling Initiation Rite (a series of *cough* games) where some of her fellow Initiates are willing to kill for rankings. This was another well done book. I liked the story, and the characters. I am looking forward to reading the next one in this series.
