”Nothing is more painful to the human mind than, after the feelings have been worked up by a quick succession of events, the dead calmness of inaction and certainty which follows and deprives the souls of both hope and fear. ”

2.5 stars.

Ugh. Classics are always hit or miss for me and this one was a hard miss. Sure, it's creative in terms of the monster creation, but the execution bored me to tears. Usually I enjoy an epistolary style novel, but not this one. The pacing was incredibly slow and the narration just did not do it for me. I could care less about the characters.
