The timeline jumps back and forth from Camp WaWa in 2006 to the present. Piper's mother who comes from her own humble beginnings insist that Piper spend the summer working as a counselor at Camp Wawa to gain some perspective. While 16 year-old Piper isn't thrilled about it, her attitude quickly changes when she meets Kyle, another counselor at camp that summer. Kyle appears to be the "bad boy" with some skeletons in his closet but he reciprocates her interest. You follow along on their journey and experience all of their first together during their one magical summer.

Back in present day, Piper finds her heart right back where it was 13 years ago and unable to forget Kyle. No matter what she tries she can't seem to get over it, nor does she want to. Could their feelings from that one summer a decade ago be rekindled or was it just a summer fling?

I LOVED this one. I read it in one shot and stayed up till 2:45 AM to finish it. K.A. Tucker has such an incredible way of not only telling a love story but creating a world where you care about everyone in the periphery as well. This book brought me right back to being 12 years old at Camp Rotary, my first sleep-away camp. All the butterflies, nervousness and excitement. It was so nostalgic weaving back in time to see Piper and Kyle's past unfold. Their love story is a slow burn, both in past and present but the build up was half of the charm. Say You Still Love Me was my first novel by K.A. Tucker and it definitely lived up to the hype. This book was the perfect amount of emotional and sweet, while still having a completely badass female lead and feeling realistic. I loved that it also turned the billionaire trope around since Piper is the one who has money AND is taking over the family business.

I loved Say You Still Love Me by KA Tucker. She is very quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. After reading and loving The Simple Wild, I jumped on the chance to read this one. And I LOVED this story. The chemistry and slow burn between Piper and Kyle was perfect. I am a huge fan of second chance romances. The alternating time lines in this story worked perfectly. I just loved Say You Still Love Me! KA Tucker is one of my favorite authors and her latest novel did NOT disappoint. I am such a fan of the second-chance romance, and I always enjoy a childhood love story. Oh young love!

I absolutely adored K.A. Tucker's last book The Simple Wild so I couldn't wait to get my hands on Say You Still Love Me. I've noticed she has a thing where her female protagonists are kinda snobby at the start. Calla (from The Simple Wild) ended up being much more likable than Piper. Some of Piper's comments really rubbed me the wrong way and I was super bummed that I didn't love this one. This is my first book K.A Tucker book and I loved it so much! Told between the past and present we get to know Kyle and Piper who come from two different worlds. They both end up working at Camp Wawa as teenagers and it is there where their lives are changed.

I’m a fan of K.A. Tucker and this book did not disappoint. I started reading this laaaaaate last night and the next thing I knew it was 3am and the last word on the the page had been read.

A second chance with your first love feel good story told in alternating timelines. I enjoyed seeing the young adults feeling out love and friendship in contrast to their adult personalities 13 years later. I was really excited to receive an e-arc of Say You Still Love Me - I had heard such good things about K.A. Tucker, and the Simple Wild was burning a hole in my TBR. (I've since read The Simple Wild, and Tucker made me feel so much!) I'm sorry to say this one just isn't for me.

I was really excited to receive an e-arc of Say You Still Love Me - I had heard such good things about K.A. Tucker, and the Simple Wild was burning a hole in my TBR. (I've since read The Simple Wild, and Tucker made me feel so much!) I'm sorry to say this one just isn't for me.

The first chapter really turned me off Piper for good. I work in a business setting too, and I couldn't believe her behavior. Yet she expected them to respect her authority! Her interpersonal techniques just weren't something I've ever seen successfully used in a workplace. It's clear to everyone she's in the senior vice president role to gain experience while she waits to someday take over the company from her father. Of course, that happens. But she didn't seem like a seasoned pro rising to the challenge of a big promotion; rather, she seemed like a 20-something fresh out of an MBA program still trying to figure out how to work well with others. Going so far as to ask the president to fire someone valuable to the company due to your personal relationship with them? You might not be ready for a senior management position.

I also didn't appreciate how invasive Piper acted with Gus, the security guard. First, she assumes he's "shown no interest" in retiring - never mind that she knows nothing about his financial situation and whether retirement would be practically feasible for him. (I'm willing to bet he's not loaded like her family.) Then she actually touches him to brush powdered sugar off his shirt which I found so invasive. Third, she gives him a hard time about his diet, which isn't her business. (It apparently occurs to her that he might be eating unhealthily to slowly kill himself - to join his wife in the grave - but not that he perhaps could use some mental health treatment if he is indeed depressed and using food as a coping mechanism.)

From here, the story flashes back to Piper's teen years. She felt like your typical rich girl: getting to be a counselor at a summer camp with friendly people and all sorts of activities, and complaining away instead of being nervously hopeful for a fun time. Her father even promised her a car in his preferred make in exchange for her taking this summer job - and naturally she's already planning on getting the most expensive model.

So, fine. She doesn't quite know the ropes of working in the business world yet, she could learn how to better interact with employees, and she's grown up in a world of wealth. Surely there's something redeemable here - maybe she's a great friend? No. For example, she complains that her friend always takes her ex-boyfriend back because the friend lacks confidence. Seriously? You're her close friend. How does it not concern you that your friend's confidence is that low? How do you not feel like you could play a positive part in her life by helping to raise her self-confidence - how is that not a thing you don't try to do without even thinking? How do you just write off that your close friend will continue to make the same mistake (in your eyes) because she's somehow seriously flawed? I just... wow. I wouldn't want to work with Piper, I wouldn't want to go to camp with her, and I wouldn't want to be her friend.

And one more minor complaint, because I couldn't not notice this:
It grated on me that so many people in just a few chapters were identified as blond. Mark, David, Vicki, her mother, Christa, Jenny, Eric, Darian - all blond! Granted, her mother is platinum blonde; Eric, dark blond. Still - I don't think I've ever seen hair color identified so many times inside a couple chapters, and the same hair color over and over again, at that.

I hate writing reviews like this - I was so ready to love Say You Still Love Me. I think that readers who haven't worked in a business setting will be able to more easily breeze through the first chapter. I also think the flashbacks to summer camp are super fun - how many of us adults wouldn't jump at the chance to relive some of our teen summer camp days? Being able to capture the freedom and excitement of that time requires a talented writer, and I'm sure K.A. Tucker continued to be up to the challenge for the rest of this novel. I just couldn't keep reading about this main character.

This one was just OK for me. I felt like you had to suspend reality a bit for the ending. That being said it is worth picking up. Just don't think you are getting another Simple Wild with this book.

I would recommend The Simple Wild, He Will Be My Ruin or Until It Fades. Knowing how much I enjoyed all of them - I came to Say You Still Love Me with high hopes.

Unfortunately - from the moment we met Piper, I really struggled with disliking her. She is super spoiled and entitled and seems to think we should be siding with her.

Piper is 29 years old and by her count has worked at her I want to start off by saying I’ve read a number of KA Tucker’s books over the past year and really enjoyed them. I would recommend The Simple Wild, He Will Be My Ruin or Until It Fades. Knowing how much I enjoyed all of them - I came to Say You Still Love Me with high hopes.

Unfortunately - from the moment we met Piper, I really struggled with disliking her. She is super spoiled and entitled and seems to think we should be siding with her.

Piper is 29 years old and by her count has worked at her father’s company for ten years (INCLUDING SUMMER INTERNSHIPS - which do NOT count Piper!!!) - You’ve worked for 6 years. And have been given a newly created Senior VP role so your dad can make it really clear you’re being groomed to take over. Awesome. Maybe it’s showing my age but I actually agree with her coworkers that maybe she should spend some more time working before being in that position.

So then we get to see her cut people down in meetings and be a condescending jerk to others who she supposedly likes. For example - we are supposed to think she’s an amazing boss because she brought her assistant a coffee? Please. Don’t EVEN get me started on the way she speaks to Gus the head of security about his diet. It is NONE OF HER BUSINESS how many donuts he ate. He is a grownup and doesn’t need you shaming him PIPER.

Piper the spoiled brat isn’t the only one who feels like a caricature of a character. When Chad and Ashley are described - it’s not enough to say they are opposites and give some normal examples of conflict. It goes as far as “Ashley spends a few hours every Thanksgiving working at a soup kitchen; Chad thinks the homeless are all lazy people looking for a handout.”

I also don’t appreciate the way Christa’s weight is discussed. I guess because it’s all from Piper’s perspective and Piper is a jerk - but I just can’t take a whole book of this. After making a point to share that Christa lost a lot of weight and works to keep it off - “she’ll never be what society deems ‘thin,’ but she can fill our a vintage swing dress like no one else I know.”

I kept pushing through. I did really enjoy the two truths and a lie scene at camp as Piper first got to know Kyle. But at 35% through and still feeling like I am forcing myself to keep reading about a character I really don’t like - I decided this book isn’t for me. I wrote these notes so I can remember why. I hope that Piper has opportunity to grow and change through the rest of the book.

Aww man this book gave me allllll the feels! It took me back to hot summer days, diving into the lake at summer camp with terrible food but amazing friends. It made me remember all the awkward interactions with strangers that turn into friends and the little moments that happen when you meet someone new. It took me back to all the good summer memories.

Then 2006, Camp Wawa: Piper has always had everything she has ever needed and wanted, and often times more. But her mother believes being a camp counselor, at a camp she attended at a girl, will give Piper a little bit of normalcy that her privileged life so far hasn’t allowed. Being 16, Piper is not looking forward to eight weeks with strangers in the wilderness. She is only thinking about the end of summer. But when she arrives, she meets new friends, and spots Kyle Miller, a fellow counselor and realizes this may not be so bad after all. As the summer unfolds, Piper is able to experience a lot of first’s. First time jumping off a cliff, skinny dipping, knitting and getting probation to name a few. But the one that sticks with her the longest, the one she never got over ... first love.

Now: Piper, now 29, is newly appointed as the VP of her fathers very profitable real-estate company. She is being primed to take over when her dad retires even if not everyone thinks she is deserving of the role, (like her fathers long time employee Trip). Not only does Piper have to work harder to prove herself not only to her employees and her ex fiancé, but it also to her father as well. Working hard has never been a problem, Piper has always been up for the challenge up until their building hired a new security guard, named Kyle. She suddenly finds herself distracted, reminiscing and questioning everything that took place at Camp Wawa, years before. Thirteen years doesn’t seem like that long ago when your first love, the one that broke your heart, is now looking at you each day when you walk in through the front doors of your office building.

Piper now has the chance to get answers to the questions she has spent years wondering about. Questions that not even with time and new relationships have been erased from the back of her mind. She just needs to decide if hearing the answers (the truth) is going to be worth it.

“I have to stop thinking about the mischievous, playful guy from Camp Wawa. The one who was chasing and charming me from the moment he first laid eyes on me. The one who grabbed my attention from forty feet away and seized my heart not long after.”

As soon as I finished reading Say You Still Love Me, I already wanted to reread it. And spoiler ... I totally did go back and reread/skim some of it. It was that good! I cannot wait to read more of K.A. Tuckers novels, if they are even a fraction as good as this one. ...more

This book. THIS BOOK. I absolutely loved it. First off, let me start by saying that I was a camp counselor, in 2006- at a sleep away camp in upstate NY. Wow! You know a book is great when you stay up all night to read it. This book exceeded my expectations and everyone should treat themselves to copy of it.

What I loved about this book:

• The writing is amazing and the characters are complex and well developed. I loved reading the descriptions of everyone and was able to envision each character as the author imagined them.

KA Tucker sure knows how to do romance, and she’s picked the perfect setting for this one.

I’ve always loved summer camp stories. There’s something so exciting about the notion of being away from home in the woods with a bunch of other teenagers. Maybe I just have an overly romanticized view of camp because I never went. Say You Still Love Me definitely plays off of this, in the best way.

I was first introduced to K.A. Tucker when I read The Simple Wild. It is one of my favourite reads of 2019 so I was super excited to receive an ARC for Say You Still Love Me.
While second chance romances are not really my thing, I was intrigued by this one. A romance that started at a camp when they were teens? Ohhh! Sounds good to me....and it was.

This book started out really strong for me and I was loving it! I really enjoyed the dual timeline (past/present) which lent itself to slowly unveiling bits of the story. Somewhere around the 80% mark, it started to fall a little flat. I didn't particularly love the bits about Pipers fathers indiscretions. Even with the meh climax, I LOVED Piper and Kyle. This was my 2nd K.A. Tucker book, and I don't think it'll be my last! I really enjoy her writing style and her characters are real and relatable. I particularly liked the back and forth timeline that she used for this plot, although I found myself way more invested in the past timeline than the present. I thought the pacing was done very well, and I was always waiting to finish whatever chapter I was in so I could go back to the other timeline!
