This is a story about first love. During a whirlwind trip to Europe with her grandmother, Tate Jones meets Sam Brandis and falls for him over late night chats discussing life. Tate tells him about things she’s never talked to anyone outside of her best friend before, including who she really is, the lost daughter of one of the biggest movie stars in the world. When her trust in Sam is broken, and her true identity is revealed, Tate’s entire life changes. Fast forward fourteen years, Tate is an a ...more

I have yet to read a @christinalauren that didn’t deserve a full five stars. I picked up an ARC at the ALA Conference Exhibition and am voluntarily leaving an objective review.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This felt like a quieter, more serious book to me, even though there was a lot of tension and a fair bit of action. This story takes second chance romance to a new level, playing out the entire backstory on stage in part one, then jumping to the present day. Another reviewer mentioned that this starts out as a s

A second chance love story that slowly unfolds with the tone of anticipation of an old Hollywood film.

I love my author duo behind Christina Lauren. I first fell in love with their steamy and often humor laden contemporay romance books. When I read their more serious in tone LOVE & OTHER WORDS, my brain perked up and took notice. They do not just deliver comedic relief but pack series writing chops as well. This most recent foray into literary/women's fiction is just as well delivered.

This book definitely gave me more Love and Other Words vibes. I enjoyed Tate and Sam’s beginning, I found it to be a tad unrealistic. Their story setting in London seemed so romantic even though they were young. It seemed like the perfect way to fall in love for the first time. I felt sorry for Tate growing up hiding her identity and then living in the public eye. I hated her father and disliked the second half of this book. The ending comes fast and I wish there was more after the last chapter. ...more

*Thank you to NetGalley, Christina Lauren, and Gallery Books for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Twice in a Blue Moon tells the story of Sam Brandis and Tate Jones through the eyes of their young adult-selves meeting and falling head over heels and the present versions of themselves, fourteen years later.

The first half of this book gave me all the feels that I always expect when I pick up a CL book; the whirlwind romance felt so real, the connection felt so synced, and

I read my first Christina Lauren book last year in October and I’ve been tearing through their backlist ever since - so you definitely have an idea how excited I was when I saw this title on Edelweiss earlier this year!!

This one was interesting in lots of ways, but it didn’t really feel like a CLo title to me. I liked Tate & Sam’s story well enough, but I wouldn’t say that I was really invested in it the way I have been in other titles (looking at you, Love & Other Words!). The steam level wasn’

I have only read two other CLo books, and enjoyed them both immensely, so I was super excited about this one.
I usually don't like to have expectations because I feel they can only lead to disappointment. I went into this book with little expectation but still came out disappointed. Was it a good story? Yes. Did I like the characters? Yes. Then what happened? It felt a little flat to me. No big laughs, no highs and lows that, to me, make me want to keep reading to know what is going to happen ne

I am a big fan of this writing duo and enjoyed this book. This book is about first love, first heartbreak and second chances. I adore the love that Sam had for his grandparents. I always struggle with instalove and the idea of someone falling in love that quickly at 18 and that person having that much of an impact of your life in a short period of time. ⁣

This book is not steamy in the sex scenes and is a slow burn of love. Overall, I enjoyed this book. ⁣
