Getting Down is a short, hilarious novella that takes place between Shacking Up and Hooking Up. It was perfect because it’s told from the dual POVs of Ruby and Amie, letting me spend a little more time with Ruby and Bane while also setting up the history between Amie, Armstrong, and Lexington that plays into the next book.

Getting Down by Helena Hunting is a quick little novella that occurs right after Shacking Up. This one continues to follow Ruby, Bancroft, Amie, Armstrong and Bancroft's brother Lexington. It's more a series of stories following the characters and picks up right around Halloween with Ruby determined to throw a party. You get more of Ruby and Bane's scorching chemistry and relationship. A short novella, but still full of sweet, funny & sexy moments between Bane and Ruby. It also showed more of Amalie and Armstrong's relationship and a few more glimpses into Lex's personality.
The story itself was centered around Ruby and Amalie throwing a charity Halloween party, so it would make a great sexy costume filled Halloween read! This story left me wanting more from this series and was an amazing lead into book two in the series! ...more

Loved this novella! A lot of times I don't feel like novellas in series are necessary, but this one is a MUST read! It's delightful (and steamy) and adds so much to the characters in the Shacking Up universe and their story. It also sets up Hooking Up perfectly. 4.5 stars!
