Loved this one! As soon as I saw that Southern Living recommended it for fans of Grey's Anatomy, I knew I had to read :) I thought it was a quick but interesting read. The perfect blend of medical drama, female friendships, romance and secret betrayal. I liked the past/present flashbacks, and was so intrigued to find out how everything had gone down (in the past). There were some small "twists" that I wondered about but really didn't see coming, so I very much enjoyed it. There was also a very s

I can see how this book can be compared to Grey’s Anatomy. I don’t think just because you like Grey’s you’ll like this book or because you hate Grey’s you will hate this book. I really enjoy medical shows, real life and fiction. They have fascinated me for as long as I can remember. I didn’t love this book though. I also didn’t hate it. There is a lot of medical jargon in this book and I can see where someone may not enjoy that. Each chapter is told from Emma or Sadie’s POV and sometimes in a di

THE QUEEN OF HEARTS BY KIMMERY MARTIN BOOK REVIEW
In case you don’t know, my favorite author is Liane Moriarty. Yeah, she’s big news now after the massive success of Big Little Lies & for good reason! Liane is amazing & I am Really Into her style of writing.
From the very beginning, she hooks you in with her relatable & REAL female characters. Liane keeps the drama righ ...more

had to read it. I had a friend describe it to me as Greys Anatomy meets Big Little Lies, so I had high expectations for this one. While I will say, it didn’t quite meet my expectations, it was still a fun read none the less.
Here are three things I liked about it:
1. The theme of friendship between Zadie and Emma (in the beginning) of the book. They supported each other through medical school, and years of friendship after. I can relate to friends helping me get through grad school and all as ...more

🌟Review🌟
Y’all I have been struggling writing this review so stick with me here!
This book is about friendships and how much one can take before it breaks. Can something that happened 10 years ago break a friendship that has made it this long?
I say I struggled with this review because it was my first 5 star read of the year and I wanted to make it to where EVERYONE will read this book! This is about friendships, love, family, and work. The fact that it shows working busy moms, I love that! That is ...more

The Queen of Hearts gave me a bit of a book hangover - it left me turning the characters and plot over in my mind, not quite ready to start anything else. Real-life Dr. Kimmery Martin really created a vivid world that I was completely drawn into. The heart of this book is the friendship between Zadie and Emma, and the book alternates between their perspectives (as well as between med school & the present). Two thumbs up for a book centered around a female friendship, and not just finding a man (
