Thank you to Edelweiss and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book! 99 Percent Mine is the story of Darcy and Tom, childhood friends reunited as he renovated her grandmother’s cottage. Though Darcy and Tom has some good chemistry at parts, I had a hard time getting into this book. I was distracted by the references to Darcy’s heart issue. It was never really clear to me what her issue was and why it was important to the story. I also wished for more back story between Darc

I'm gonna be real with you ...this is painful. I loved The Hating Game so much and this was one of my most anticipated books for 2019, but it fell so flat. I wanted to DNF multiple times throughout, but kept going because I wanted to give it a fair chance. I probably should've trusted my instincts.
I just went back and reread the synopsis for the book and to be honest, there's not a lot more to the book than what you read there. The characters aren't developed much more than what's in the synopsi ...more

Sally Thorne is such a wonderful storyteller. I absolutely loved the dialogue, the characters, and the banter!
Darcy returns home after her grandmother passes away, where the house was left to her and her twin brother. Darcy has an itch in her bones to travel all over the world, but feels tied to see the renovation through. One day she comes home from work to see her childhood friend Tom (who she has always loved and adored) standing on her front porch ready to renovate her grandmas house. Tom i ...more

I love The Hatiing Game so I knew I needed to read Sally Thorne’s next novel.
This is the story of Darcy Bennett who has a crush on her brothers best friend Tom. Her life is in the outs. She wants to travel. She wants to run away from her life. However she is stuck waiting for her grandmothers house to renovate which Tom is going to do.
This is a best-friends to lovers romance which was sweet. I was rooting for them. This book was set in the world of home renovations which I found it unique.

1. I tried my very best to not compare this to ‘The Hating Game’ no matter how much I wanted to.
2. No matter this rating or review; I love Sally Thorne with all my heart and soul and will definitely be picking up any book she writes.
I really tried to love this book, but it didn’t hit the sweet spot for me. I’m just not super into a slow burn. And this was a HELLA. SLOW. BURN. A 300. PAGES. SLOW. BURN. A SHOUTIN ...more

Enjoyable romcom. I'm not quite sure what was missing, but I wasn't taken with this one the way I was with the Hating Game. I liked the characters, and their individual arcs. I liked the setting too, and the whiffs of steam. I guess maybe the pacing felt off, and that stopped me from really loving this story. I also don't love when a lack of open communication makes such a difference in characters' lives.
Clearly, I don't have a major grievance to air here - these are minor critiques. I liked 99 ...more

A great sophomore release from the author of the EPIC romcom that stole my heart... this book swooped in and secured Sally Thorne as one of my top loved authors. Friends to lovers, brothers best friend, unrequited love finally realized... romance tropes that have been done time and again but in Sally’s hands they became fresh and lively.
If you enjoy a slow burn happily ever after, this is your book.
