I ended up reading this book pretty much in one sitting ... it was that much fun! Josh has known Hazel since college (and has endured many awkward moments with her), so when Hazel decides that they're going to become best friends as adults, he isn't really phased. They proceed to set each other up on increasingly awful blind dates, laughing at everything happening while they get to spend time together. As this continues on, they start to realize ... is there something more?

I knew this was a loved book by many and it did not let me down! I read it in one day because I was hooked. I’m all for a slow burn friends to lovers romance!

I loved all the characters in the story and you can’t help but love the friendship between Hazel and Josh. Hazel is like sunshiney-unicorn- tornado, as in she’s uniquely her. I’m guessing you’ve heard all the rave reviews before, so what else can I say that hasn’t been said before? I immediately fell in love with Hazel from the beginning of the book. She is quirky but fun. I’m convinced everyone needs a Hazel in their life. Her mother was always an embarrassment to her father but Hazel owns her quirks and knows she is enough. This book was so cute! In true Christina Lauren fashion that had us hooked a couple chapters in and I was dying to find out what happened at the end!

This was a perfect vacation read for me. It was light, laughable, and kept me interested! I wish that it had picked up speed just a little bit more and that there was more to the characters than being so scared to not take things to the next level. However, I did love the banter between the two of them and their double dates.

Such a sweet easy read.

Hazel was such a fun character.

I laughed out loud many times. I felt the ending was a little rushed and would have liked a little bit more however overall a light, easy read story.

Now before everyone kicks me off goodreads let me explain myself. I wanted to LOVE this book, most everyone I have talked to has loved it. But for me it just fell flat. I needed more. I didn’t connect well with the characters, I didn’t feel chemistry with them and the whole scared to move on thing went on way to long for me. I did just finish an amazing 5 star read yesterday so maybe that affected me, but this one was just kinda I liked it, it was a light super quick read.

I fell hard for sweet Josh and quirky Hazel in this friends to lovers romance. Their connection and chemistry leaped off the page from their first interactions. Hazel is such a free spirit with absolutely no filter and Josh is sweet albeit a little uptight. Naturally, I loved watching them navigate the waters of friendship and having that evolve into something more. This was my first Christina Lauren book and I absolutely loved it! Highly recommend the audiobook for this one as well.
