I have complicated feelings about this one, based on my personal experience and those of my friends. It was a really enjoyable read, but if you are dealing with challenges relating to infertility, I'd recommend you ask a friend who's read it first before picking up the Friend Zone. It might not be for you.

Abby Jimenez’s debut novel was a 5 star read for me. I’d heard the early buzz and needed to see if the hype was real. Deserving of all that, and more!
This is a rom-com with depth, heart, steam and the best banter! It also delves into very real, painful issues of loss, strained family relationships and infertility. Be prepared for laughter, frustration, tears, secrets, revelation, loss and so much love.
I cannot wait for book two!!

I had a lot of reservations going into this book because *hype*. Hyped books freak me out, they give expectations that generally get disappointed unless I can remove the expectation before reading. I had the opportunity to read an ARC of The Happy Ever After Playlist so I had to buckle down and read TFZ.

Wow!!! I LOVED this book!! It has been awhile since I have stayed up until 2 or 3 in the morning to finish a book, but this one did that for me. There has been a lot of hype around this release, and let me tell you it is deserved.
First off, I loved Kristen as a main character. She was strong and loyal and just fun. I also loved how the author address reproductive issues. It was so refreshing to meet a character that was so real and to have these issues represented so well in the book.

This is one of those rare books that is totally worth the hype - I've seen tons of people posting about it and reviewing it, not to mention all the summer lists it's shown up on (like Popsugar's 34 Best Books to Put in Your Beach Bag This Summer).

This is the story of no frills and tough as nails Kristen, and her male equivalent and hottie love interest, fireman Josh. The chemistry between these two characters was palpable from the very first chapter and remained strong throughout. It is told in alternating points of view between Kristen and Josh, so you really understand each character's thought process, feelings, reactions, etc. every step of the way. I loved that the author dealt with such heavy issues as infertility in a romance novel. Overall enjoyable romance read. I did get frustrated with how stubborn Kristen was!
The hype is REAL. I have finally read and finished The Friend Zone last week by the pool. I absolutely love a good friends to lovers story and this one delivered. TFZ has amazing banter, witty remarks, a cute love story, but it is so much more than that. It is a heart wrenching emotional novel as well. It is a book that will make you laugh and cry.

I have struggled with writing a review on this book for at least a week now. This damn book wrecked me! It was funny, and true, and completely gut wrenching. I mean I was ugly crying crying, couldn’t hardly breathe. But I LOVED this book. I will read this book over and over. I also am counting down the days until the sequel comes out in 2020. This book was about friendship, and relationships, and not always knowing exactly what you should do.

First of all if anyone knows someone like Josh that’s single could you send him to NC please ... and thank you!
Second why didn’t someone warn me 😩 ... this one broke my heart 💔 Or maybe they did warn me and that is kinda why I held off reading it. Either way, I had tears running down my face finishing those last 70 pages.
