What Members Thought

Why did I wait so long to start reading this series?!?!? It has been recommended to me countless times but I never thought I would like it (mainly because I don't usually like series' that are about the same person in each book. And the fact that it is considered a "young-adult" book put me off at first too). Luckily, I have a VERY pushy co-worker who brought me the book and told me I HAD to read it. I ended up reading the entire book in one night and waking up the next morning to drive to the s

So I was waiting to get this book from Booksfree.com, and I could tell it was popular, because it was always being pushed back! I finally broke down and bought it as my Halloween "treat" to myself!!! The only thing that disappointed me was that when faced with Hardcover or Paperback...I chose paperback, with my thinking being..."well, if I don't like it, at least I didn't shell out $20 bucks for it...". I'm totally going back and getting the Hardcover! LOL!

Love it, hate it, doesn't matter. But you can't say that it didn't stir some sort of emotion in you. My sister-in-law described it perfectly when she told me, "It's as though I feel everything that Bella is feeling!"
My sister, who took some nudging even to read it, said "Edward is the most beautiful man I have ever seen!"
Other reluctant sister asked her, "This is a book, not a movie right? How do you know what he looks like?"
I know everyone must picture him differently, but you can't deny that ...more

I can see why it has the following that it has but I do not believe I will continue with teh series. It's ok but for me it does not hold my interest for long that is why it has taken me so long to read it. But it wuld be a great series for younger readers

Quick and readable, but this version of vampires is a little cuddly. And the main character, Bella, is a little naive and unobservant for someone we're supposed to believe comes up with a "master plan" to outwit an enemy. As vampire/paranormal series go, this one doesn't make me want to rush out and read the sequel the way others (Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, early Laurell K. Hamilton) did. Definitely correctly shelved in the teen-lit section.

i really liked this book - i thought it was a sweet love story and took me back in time to my first love, but then it goes there, the action, the werewolves, urgh the hard boiled shelled babies. so it was good for a few dozen chapters and then i forced to turn in my emo, tween, goth card.

I picked up this book because I'd heard so much about it. I started reading, and couldn't put it down. I read all 3 books in a weekend. It was that good.
