I'm going to go with three stars on this, even though I had some issues with it. I so wanted to love it, but in the end I felt very torn. It gets three stars from me because I do think it's important to talk about gender roles, feminism, and subverting expected paradigms in YA lit. The beginning of the story was a bit slow for me. However, I liked the strong female lead role, especially that she had to fight to prove herself strong in spite of the opinions of the people closest to her like her family. I found the storyline a bit farfetched, though. #2013hubchallenge

She's just too spineless for my taste, and that makes it hard for me to believe she'd have the gumption to perpetrate all the pranks in this book.
