I saw Ayaan Hirsi Ali speak at an event in Sydney several years ago and was very impressed with her brand of feminism. So this book had been on my to-read list since then. I kept putting it off because I knew it would not be an easy story. And there are certainly some parts that are hard to read and digest, especially in the first half of the book.

Almost finished, but got sidetracked with other memoirs about my focus country, Liberia, for the next book I write. But, Infidel is very well written and important!
Finished:
I feel like I understand the Muslim faith better if only from Ms. Ali's point of view, which I sadly fear is the case, the oppression of women, honor killing even in Holland the Dutch authorities discovered at Ali request once she was a member of the Dutch Parliament.
