I really enjoyed the first 90% of this book or so. After that, a few very odd things started happening that did not seem to be in line with the rest of the story. Because of this, I didn't really fully understand the resolution. But, overall it was better than I expected!
The aspect of the story where animals are so rare that they are highly cherished and have a Blue Book value was interesting.

With all the chatter about this book and the movie Bladerunner and its sequel, I doubt I can add anything insightful about it. I will say that if you are looking for a book that is going be like the movie, you are will probably be disappointed. I personally think the book is better, but they are essentially two different stories, because the film concentrates on the action part of the bounty hunter vs the androids, and PKD's stories is much more nuanced--more a question of what makes a human bei

I surprised myself by picking up this book this weekend. Not my usual fare.
But I loved it. I did. I wouldn't even just say it was okay. I thought it was excellent. A strong story with good characters and an intriguing plot.
Don't read it because you loved Blade Runner, however. I'm not really sure what the movie Blade Runner and the book, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sleep, have in common. Two completely different stories, except for the job of seeking to put down androids.
