Hey guys, just finished the first BOTM for our Bookclub by reading Mexican Gothic! The rating is really a 3.5 check out how I liked the book below.

Shelves: thriller
I am not one for horror or sci-fi, but I couldn’t put this book down. I had to know what would become of the Taboda cousins. I can’t wait to watch the movie for Mexican Gothic. I’m sure I’ll watch through my fingers even if I know how it ends.

The ladies of B3 loved this book! The symbolism in this novel was amazing; from religious themes to colonization, feminism, and fighting against (literally) the structure of a fucked-up system, we loved every moment of it. The world Silvia created was so vivid. Reading this story felt like watching a movie at times; it felt like we were in the gloom at High Place as the story was unfolding. We found ourselves cheering on Noemi as she battled mysterious forces to save herself and her family. The ...more
