Shelves: audio, mostly-loved, rereading-alt-format, delightful-diction

As once The Night Circus came to me as surreal and achingly sweet so that I was totally mesmerized and magically transported to the end. Again I enter The Night Circus, this time through the narration of the wonderful Jim Dale (Harry Potter). He brings a new voice to the circus and plays on new emotions. I am sure I will be swept away as before, never wanting to leave this circus far behind.

This book will be "slow" for many. To me... probably the best book I have read in years. This is beautifully written, engaging all your senses and taking you there. I have seen some complain that it lacks development or focus on the main characters. I feel that those people are missing that the CIRCUS is the main character. It's story is written with great depth and it is written like the tale of a living thing. The other characters are linked by their relationships with the circus. A truly uniq ...more

It took a very long time for me to read this book (which is rare, usually if I like a book I can fly through it). While it was slow for me time wise it was fast while I was scrolling though pages - which I know makes zero sense. The story has several character that themes revolve around instead of one main character per se. It starts in the late 1800's and ends in the unknown. Very well-written - 4.5 stars. Complex and detailed story but I felt that the romance fell a bit flat. I would like to read this one again.
