"There are languages without words and violence is one of them."

What a surprising story. I didn't really know what I was getting in to when I started this. I'd seen some great reviews for this author's other works so I shrugged my shoulders and added this one to my box. Those glowing reviews for this one are absolutely well earned!

Excellent first half, but second 1/2 became increasingly violent which I understand is common in animal world. But Aggie’s decisions so questionable and damage (over the top for me)! Mental health issues seem to be pervasive in novels nowadays! Happy that Inti finall figures out where she went Wrong with wolves reintroduction and solved Stuart mystery.

I cannot tell you how many times I thought about DNFing this book. Not because it was bad, but because I cannot handle any kind of animal trauma. So, if you are the same way, you may have trouble with this. Triggers: Animal cruelty, abuse, & death. Other Triggers: Human rape, abuse, murder. I hate to give that away as it is part of the story, but I'm traumatized, I must admit. I was really hating some people in this book. This book is a lot, but it’s written gracefully and compassionately. I’m going to need time to digest it, and while it isn’t a feel good read that I might enjoy rereading to escape, it is grounded enough in reality to stay.
