This would be an unpopular opinion. I did not enjoy this book although I finished it.

The premise started out strong. With a well crafted villain, an enchanted/haunted house with a personality, and an imaginative world building and two main characters. And set in victoriana England!

What derailed it for me was Hulda's internal monologue. And the cheap romance. ...more
