I don't even know what to say about this book. It's very difficult to read at times. I'm never bothered by what I read in books, but even this one hit me differently. And that ending ... I still don't know what to make of it. When I was about halfway through, I had a conversation with a friend of mine about this book. Wow. Wow. And more wow!! I find myself saying this a lot, but I had this on my TBR and wasn’t sure if I was in the mood for it…there is no way NOT to be in the mood for this book! I was hooked right at the beginning with the accident Lowen witnessed, I just knew there was going to be more to her story with Jeremy. I just didn’t know how much! This book is a total mind melt. Up is down, down is up. The author, Colleen Hoover, hooks the reader right away, writing vulnerable, relatable characters who are likeable. Lowen is a struggling author approached by the legal representation of a famous author to continue her work after a debilitating accident. Then the rollercoaster begins.

Verity isn’t a ground-breaking novel but if you want pure escapism, then this is a good thriller to pick up. The ending was a bit anti-climactic, and a little predictable but the book as a whole was an enjoyable distraction for a bit.
