I bite down on the wood in front of me. I can feel Verity’s teeth marks beneath mine. Different. Unaligned with my own. I bite harder into the wood as I come, determined to leave deeper marks than she ever did.

This book had me stunned! I had heard so much hype and wow this book lived up to it!

Lowen is a struggling author who gets propositioned to finish a book series of a very well-known author who has gotten into a severe car accident. Lowen hesitantly accepts the offer and moves into Verity's house to read through all her notes to create the next 3 books of the series. This was the first for-pleasure book I've read in years and I couldn't put it down! Present-tense narratives always throw me off, but this one was easy to fall into. By the end of the book, you're left wondering what's real and what's not - but definitely hating a character!

Loved the twist ending

Couldn’t put it down. Loved the way you are hearing from Lowen in real-time and then from Verity via her manuscript. Many points had me scared, anxious. Lots of directions were possible at a few points. Really enjoyed this one.
