What an extraordinary book! I dont think I've ever read anything like it before, and what a simple but genius idea. In a nutshell without spoilers a girl Addie LaRue in 17th century france makes a deal with "a god of the night" aka the devil; to avoid an unwanted marriage, Freedom in exchange for her soul. What she doesn't bargain for is that as the sunsets every day, or should she move from sight or a door closes on her, no one will remember her. This book was just okay for me. I'm not a big fantasy reader, so I knew this one might be a miss for me, but I still wanted to give it a go. I could have gone without reading it. I'm just not the right reader for this book. ...more
