This is a like a love letter to Mother Earth. Witches are connected to one season, except for our main character who is an Everwitch. She has magic in every season, and she's the only one. This concept was very intriguing, and I liked how Griffin developed this world and its magical rules. The adults put a lot of pressure on her as the sole everwitch who has a chance of fixing the world. Eek.

Griffin does tend to repeat herself a bit too often, particularly when its a plot point like the shaders

Wavering between 3-4 stars, I liked the hopeful nature of the story. The main character’s internal thoughts are focused on a more juvenile audience than some YA novels. The magic aspect is well done and made me wish for magical extreme climate solutions. I am glad that this subject could reach a young audience.
