Why do I like this woman’s books so much?! I genuinely can’t tell you why but I inhale them every time.
Didn't care for this one! I felt there was too much drama and adult content (drugs and alcohol abuse, child neglect, sex, dysfunctional relationships, etc).
The first part of the book was more enjoyable as we learned of the Riva's childhood as they dealt with being raised by their single mother (June) while their father, a famous rockstar (Mick) left them. I would have liked more of this and less of the big end-of-summer party. I didn't love characters or the story. ...more

After all of the hype and reviews, I was looking forward to reading this book. Maybe I expected too much. It was just okay. The characters were average. The beginning got me interested, and I expected an extreme climax. I didn't get what I imagined.
I'm going to give it 2.5 stars. It didn't quite make it to three.
But that being said, I believe it would be a good beach read. It's quick and fun.
Perhaps I shouldn't have read it during fierce winter storms. ...more
