I like this book, it was not amazing but it was good. This is the first book I wanted to give a 3.5 stars but it was good enough to increase to 4 stars if I had to choose. It was the story of a family, disfunctional (what family is not), with lots of hardships that brings most of them closer together. I almost DNF'd at about 30%. I think I have to be in the right mood for Jenkins Reid's style - it's basically pages and pages of meandering through the characters' histories.
I did stick with it - after all, I wanted to know what happened at the party! And I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. I'm not sure I connected with any of the characters but ended up finding the story interesting. So sort of a luke-warm recommendation. ...more
