What Members Thought
If you want to reading something different, then this is the book! Mitchell takes the reader through six different stories which the reader is only allowed to read the first part and then move on to the next story -- in this order 1 2 3 4 5 6 and then return to the books in this order 5 4 3 2 1. Personally I have to say that I enjoyed all of the stories except the dystopian one entitled An Orison of Sonmi, which made me think that Mitchell was influenced greatly by the 1973 film - Soylent Green,

Love love love this book. In the beginning I found the pace clunky and hard to get into. I'm not a fan of short stories. After the second chapter/story, I began to get into the book a lot. Once I was used to the writing style, I completely fell in love. The characters and their world is unlike any I've read about before. I can't wait to read more of David Mitchell's work.

The good part about splitting the 6 short stories that make up this book in half is that just as you start getting bored with one, the next begins. I enjoyed 4 of the 6, so I'll give it 3 stars. Unfortunately the worst two stories were at the beginning, middle and end. The connection of the birthmark between the main characters was a bit ridiculous and should've been left out.
