I did not expect to like this book as much as I did. But I loved it. Below are a few quotes from the book that I was able to jot down.

“The chosen ones never know they’re chosen. They think everyone gets a red carpet rolled out for them.”

“You appreciate things more that are fleeting.”

This book just gutted me. I don’t really even know why—I’ve never been in a band but I’ve definitely been in love. I think it was easy to put myself in various characters’ shoes.

Was not impressed with the format or the content though understand why when finishing the book. Seemed to be just a bunch of stoned and messed up rockers trying to make a record despite their extremely big egos and when finally discovering the true value in their lives being strong enough to make the decisions that would make them live. The song lyrics were good and would have loved the music with it.

I thought Daisy Jones & The Six was an enjoyable read but I guess I'm missing something -- not sure what all the fuss is about. Reese Witherspoon and I must have different taste in books, I guess. It's an interesting look into a fictional rock band and well written but it didn't knock my socks off! ...more

I absolutely loved this book. The approach of telling the story through interviews with the band members was entertaining and fresh.

The descriptions of the songwriting and the performances were just so vivid. I wish there really was an Aurora album to listen to while reading this book.

I have really been looking forward to this book since I read Evidence of the Affair the fall. I was excited to be the first person to read my library's copy.
