What Members Thought
The Rules of Magic is the book before Practical Magic, and I thought, "What could be better than Practical Magic?" Ha! Not only is this audiobook awesome, the story makes Practical Magic even better for understanding the curse & a better idea of how these folks came to be who they are.

Prequel to Practical Magic. I loved learning about Franny, Jet, and Vincent who were the ancestors of Sally and Gillian. Now I need to read Practical Magic because I must admit I have only watched the movie. For shame!
I felt that the narrative was better balanced than in "Practical Magic," the plot felt smoother and better paced. But it lacked the magical realism that the other had in spades. Much of the plot was predictable and uninspiring, but Hoffman has a gift for description.
