What Members Thought
It was pretty good.. I hadn't had any expectations going in, which was good. I like the story, but to start (to build the full world) it went a little slow while they set the stage. Finally, when it was all set it was nice to finally get to all the action and the end.

This was a fun read for all of us. All the mythology was educational for the kids (Alright, and a little for me too). The blending of mythology into the story in a unique way was my favorite part. The story didn't have a strong emotional pull, but the boys didn't seem to care.

Cool storyline...Joenick and I read it together. He LOVES it! It was kind of like Harry Potter for early elementary-aged kids. We're excited to read the next ones together! (and see the movie tonight!)

Have to admit I saw the movie tonight so we won't be finishing the book. It's been a nighttime read with an 8 year old and now that we've seen the movie we'll probably move on to book two. Held his attention, just couldn't get through many pages at a time.

We are reading this aloud as a family. So far so good (although Michael thinks it is a rip off of harry potter - too similar).
