A stunning read. I dove in to this book and it just washed me away. I won't say the end was easy to see but that ok it how it got me there. I love the city and and people they seemed real. I love the books and love of book.. Now on to the next in the series

Sometimes there's a book that's everything I want it to be and more. The Shadow of the Wind is one of them.
The prose is beautiful. I would reread poetic sentences that astounded me and left me aching. The setting is dark, the noir of 1950s Barcelona, but the mystery isn't the gripping sort. Instead it's the intricate, unfolding plot that hypnotized me. Zafón described the novel within this novel as a Russian doll, where the plot breaks down into smaller and smaller plots until everything is wove ...more
