Astronauts. Space. Survival. This book hits all of the right notes for me. There was very little chance I wasn't going to enjoy it.
I liked it. I liked it a lot. Mark Watney was a fun character. He's smart, he's courageous, and he's funny. I have a little bit of a book crush on him right now. Smart-asses who are intelligent, resourceful, and brave make my heart go pitter-pat. If you have ever met my husband, he's a lot like Mark Watney. Sigh.

Had this as 4 stars, but I keep thinking about this one months later... Bumping it up to 5 stars! Wonderful book!

What an amazing tale. I know this is fiction but the author did an amazing job in making this believable. I was intrigued after page 1. It is also funny to me to read comments such as this was such mindless reading and who could ever believe that one man could figure out how to survive such a feat. All I can say is that they do not send individuals up in space that aren't intelligent. If you know anything of NASA it is the time spent on preparation and maneuvers etc that they go through hence ho

I really enjoyed this one. The humor in it was unexpected and made it even better.
WOW! I'm exhausted. The chemistry and technical stuff was way over my head, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

Wow! An amazing story. Great Sci Fi!
There is a bit of science at the beginning, but if you can hang in there and get past it, it not only gets really good, but funny too. It made me wonder why anyone is an astronaut and wonder how anyone is that smart. Crazy. And if you are wondering, the movie follows the book really well.
